The classic mix-up: title notarization ≠ bill of sale notarization

Arizona, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Wyoming require notarizing the title assignment when the vehicle changes hands. That's a different document — in those states the bill of sale itself still needs no notary. Plenty of sites conflate the two; our per-state pages keep them separate.
